Frequently Asked Questions All you need to know about "SERVICE +" Q: What vehicles are covered by "SERVICE +". A: All new vehicles and used vehicles under one year old. Q: How long am I covered for? A: All vehicles are covered for a period of 3 or 4 years from the date of the vehicles first registration. Q: What is covered? A: All servicing work (both parts and labour) as well as all wear and tear items that may need replacing (parts and labour), an MOT when the vehicle is 3 years old. Q: What do I do when a service is due? A: Your vehicle must be serviced in line with the manufacturer's recommended service intervals (refer to your driver's handbook for details). When a service is due simply telephone our Central Booking facility on 0870 842 1742 and our trained operators will book your vehicle into the nearest approved repairer. Q: Is this the same as a mechanical breakdown insurance I've seen before? A: No - definitely not! Everything except neglect or wilful damage to any item is covered under this plan. Q: What if my car breaks down? A: Roadside assistance will be provided for minor faults. If these cannot be fixed your vehicle will be taken to an approved repairer to have the work carried out. Q: Are tyres covered? A: Yes, if taken will save you money and will be fitted at your house or place of work. Q: My MOT is due - what should I do? A: Call our Central Booking facility on 0870 842 1742 and our trained operators will book your vehicle into the nearest approved repairer. Any repairs necessary to pass the MOT are covered by "SERVICE +". Q: Where will my vehicle be serviced? A: Your vehicle will be serviced at either a franchised dealer or at an independent garage approved by HMC depending on the option you have chosen. If you want your vehicle to be serviced by a particular garage this may be possible but only by prior arrangement with HMC. Q: Can my agreement be extended? A: Yes your service agreement can be extended beyond the 3 or 4 year term at an additional cost. Q: How much does "SERVICE +" cost? A: Obviously this depends on the make and model of your vehicle and the number of miles you will be travelling. Q: How do I obtain a quotation? A: Simply complete the questionnaire on "obtain a quotation" and one of our operators will e-mail you or call you back during working hours (Monday - Friday 9.00 a.m. - 5.30 p.m.
